Painting processes often run in harsh production environments where heat and humidity make ordinary identification systems difficult to apply. For hanger-based production lines, the system also needs to match each product with the correct hanger and process step accurately.

This project applied an RFID-based hanger identification system to automate product recognition across the painting line. RFID readers were installed at key process points so hanger information could be collected in real time and linked with work instructions and process data.

Challenge

The existing process depended heavily on manual matching between products, hangers, and production steps. That created room for identification errors, added work for operators, and made it difficult to see the live status of each item as it moved through the painting process.

The operating environment also made ordinary identification methods less reliable, especially where heat, humidity, and industrial handling conditions were present.

Applied Solution

An RFID identification layer was added to the hanger flow. Each hanger could be recognized automatically as it passed configured read points, and the detected ID could be matched with the relevant production information.

The system design included RFID antennas, tags, controller components, and a monitoring interface for process visibility. This allowed work instructions and process information to be linked automatically so operators could manage the painting flow with less manual checking.

Outcome Direction

The RFID system improves the reliability of product identification in high-temperature and high-humidity painting environments. It supports real-time tracking, automates process matching, improves work accuracy, and reduces operator burden.

By connecting hanger identity with process data, the site can improve operational visibility and move toward a more automated production workflow.
